Pixel 8 could finally offer stable performance and battery life?

Google Pixel phones have a lot of exciting features but its performance is not rated as flagship-grade because of the unstable chip.

Google Pixel phones are renowned for offering great cameras and even the design has its fans. But the company has made a habit of delivering phones that can be a hot case, most of which can be attributed to the Tensor chip. Even the Pixel 7 series had the same issues, which invariably affected the phone’s battery life.

But this year could be different, as reports suggest the new Tensor G3 chip could perform better in these departments thanks to the latest tech being adopted for the hardware. Samsung is the reported manufacturer of the Tensor G3 chipset, likely based on the Exynos 2400 SoC from the South Korean brand.

While there is nothing exciting to know about these details, it is interesting to hear that Samsung Foundry is finally going to adopt the FO-WLP (Fan-out wafer-level packaging which could work in favour of the Tensor G3 chip. The FO-WLP packaging is supposed to help with better efficiency of the hardware and also improve the graphics performance. But more importantly, Pixel phones could finally become reliable with their battery life.

Other chip giants Qualcomm and MediaTek have already used this tech to make their chips, and Samsung could finally join the ranks, which will not only please Google but also the consumers. Samsung’s record with the Exynos chips has been a mixed bag, forcing the company to eventually move to Qualcomm chips for its flagship phones. So we are hoping that the rumoured Exynos 2400-based Tensor G3 chip can be a level above the previous iterations.

The new Pixel 8 series is launching on October 4 and the new phones are expected to be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset, which could give us a big performance and efficiency boost.

The company is also bringing the new Pixel 8 phones to the Indian market on October 5 along with the Pixel Watch 2 this year. We are eager to see if the Pixel phones can finally match up to the other flagship phones when it comes to performance and battery life.
