Google Pixel 10 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Razr+ (2025) offer higher levels of security than Apple's iPhone 17, according to a Leviathan Security Group report, which was commissioned by Google. The cybersecurity firm tested the phones on 33 parameters, such as their "Advanced protection programs", password managers, account change protection features, and SIM theft protection. Additionally, the California-based tech giant also highlighted how its AI-enabled call filter and spam detection features aid in scam protection.

Google and Magic Leap showcased a prototype of their new Android-powered XR glasses at the Future Investment Initiative event in Riyadh. Both companies have extended their partnership with a new three-year agreement. The device uses Magic Leap’s waveguide and optical technologies with Google’s Raxium microLED light engine. It features a camera, microphones, an in-lens display and speakers.

Meta Platforms on Friday announced a new security measure for keeping WhatsApp chat backups safe by encrypting them with passkeys. With passkey-encrypted chat backups, users will not be required to memorise a password or a 64-digit encryption key anymore. Instead, they can utilise the handset's buil-in security methods, such as fingerprints or facial recognition, or even a simple screen lock code to encrypt the backup and add extra security.

Apple has intentions of integrating with more artificial intelligence (AI) companies beyond OpenAI, CEO Tim Cook said in a conversation with a publication on Thursday. The Cupertino-based tech giant has long been rumoured to form partnerships with AI firms to have their large language models (LLMs) power features on iPhone and other Apple devices. The Apple executive also hinted towards a release timeline of Siri with more advanced capabilities, which is yet to arrive after its 2024 showcase.
