Starlink recently achieved a new feat by launching its 10,000th satellite in space, after 28 satellites blasted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Elon Musk-led SpaceX, the company has been planning to expand its presence across the globe. Now, the company has posted four new job postings in India for its Bengaluru office. The SatCom firm is also planning to set up multiple gateway Earth stations across India, critical for it to provide its internet services in remote regions of the country.

Google is reportedly to be working to modify the AOD feature in Android 17. The company could release a new"Min Mode" which could allow third-party apps to display their own persistent, minimalist interfaces directly on the AOD. Google Maps is expected to use this feature first. The 'Min Mode' may allow display of the full-screen application interface.

Meta has introduced passkey support for encrypted WhatsApp chat backups, letting users restore encrypted chats using fingerprint, face, or screen lock instead of passwords or 64-digit keys. Passkeys are securely stored in a password manager for safer, simpler access. The feature, rolling out globally soon, enhances end-to-end encryption introduced in 2021. Users can enable it via Settings > Chats > End-to-end encrypted backup on Android or iOS. Notably, encrypted WhatsApp backups aren’t included in regular iCloud or iTunes backups on iPhone.

OpenAI has updated its Sora app for iOS with new creative tools, including Character Cameo, which lets users turn short videos and audio of pets, objects, or drawings into reusable characters. The update also introduces Video Stitching for combining clips and new Leaderboards for social engagement. For a limited time, Sora’s invite restriction has been lifted in the US.
