Apple Watch Ultra 2 Users Facing Display Issues; Company Launches Investigation – News18

Apple recently launched its next-generation Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 smartwatches with new features and upgrades. However, just a month after the launch, the company is now investigating a display flickering issue on these new Apple watches.

According to an internal service memo shared with Apple Authorised Service Providers, the flickering issue will be fixed soon via a future update.

“The memo does not indicate which Apple Watch models are affected, but the issue appears to be most prevalent on the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models released last month,” MacRumors reported.

There are complaints from customers about this issue across the MacRumors Forums, Reddit, and the Apple Support Community website. The issue appears to be present on all watchOS 10 versions, including the latest watchOS 10.0.2 release.

The report also revealed that Apple recommends that service providers should not fix the affected watches. Instead, the customers are advised to make sure their Apple Watch software is always updated.

This suggests that Apple might release a solution for the issue in a future watchOS update. It’s unclear if Apple has addressed the issue in watchOS 10.1, which is expected to be released to the public next week.

As a temporary solution, Apple suggests customers to turn off Always On mode in the Settings app under Display & Brightness > Always On.

The issues are not limited Apple watches only,  iPhone users are also reporting a mysterious bug that causes certain iPhone models to shut down temporarily at night.

In a thread on the social networking website, Reddit, a user claimed that two separate ‌iPhone‌ alarms in his home failed to go off. Several other users also faced similar issues. According to MacRumors, some of the issues could be linked to the ‌iPhone‌ turning off at night.

You can know if your iPhone turned off during the night by accessing the Settings app, going to Battery, and reviewing the 24-hour charging history. If you notice a gap in the data, it indicates that your iPhone was powered off for a certain duration.
