Sony SRS-XV800 Wireless Party Speaker Review: Good In-House Party Companion – News18

Sony SRS-XV800 Speaker Review: Japanese tech giant Sony recently introduced its new SRS-XV800 party speaker in India, with some interesting specifications and features, including an IPX4 rating, Bluetooth connectivity, Omni-directional Party Sound, a TV Sound Booster, and much more.

Sony SRS-XV800 Speaker: Price And Design

Sony SRS-XV800 is priced at Rs 49,990 in India. We used it for almost a month and here is what I have to say about the latest offering from the Japanese company. From its design to its overall performance, the Sony SRS-XV800 possesses all the necessary elements to capture the attention of potential buyers.

The SRS-XV800 speaker delivers loud, clear, and high-quality sound, making it a good option for house parties. Additionally, it offers decent battery life. Also, it is IPX4 water-resistant and easy to carry and manage. The Sony SRS-XV800 speaker is a bit heavy, weighing 20 kg, and it measures 32x70x38cm in size. You’ll find basic controls on the top of the device, which allow you to connect it to a smartphone and a laptop simultaneously through Bluetooth, adjust the volume, and control the bass.

At the rear of the device, there’s a panel hidden under a rubber flap where you can access more advanced controls. Under this flap, you’ll find input and output options like a Stereo Mini Jack (IN), a USB port for charging, a Mic Input, a Guitar Input, and more.

The SRS-XV800 speaker offers various options in terms of sound quality, portability, and lighting, which keeps changing. The speaker has even small wheels and handles that make it easy to move within a room. However, keep in mind that it is not suitable for moving between different floors without a lift.

The speaker has an appealing look and its lighting feature makes it a great choice to consider buying. It is really designed for hosting parties. Whether you’re chilling out or having a good time with friends and family, this speaker will provide you with good sound quality and plenty of features to play with.

Sony SRS-XV800 Speaker: Performance

Coming to the features and performance, the Sony SRS-XV800 boasts an Omni-directional Party Sound feature that fills sound in every corner of the room. The speaker has a unique rectangular diaphragm that maximizes sound quality with deep bass, less distortion, and clear vocals. The design also has robust bass and vocal clarity even at high volumes. The speaker includes five tweeters to deliver clear high-frequency sound all around. Listening to artists like AP Dillion, Post Malone, Subh, and Avicii on this speaker showcases its impressive range.

The Sony SRS-XV800 has a TV Sound Booster feature that makes your TV shows and movies sound better by using the speaker’s two rear tweeters along with the TV sound. When I connected it to the TV to watch movies, the speaker performed excellently. You can also use it through the Fiestable app which gives you complete control of the speaker.

To use the Fiestable app, you’ll need to download the Sony Music Center app first from the app store. With the app, you can control music, lighting, and more using your smartphone or even voice commands. You can also make playlists and invite others to add their favorite songs. Plus, it works with both iOS and Android devices.

When it comes to the battery, the SRS-XV800 speaker boasts an impressive 25-hour battery life and can last for over three days on a full charge with normal usage, averaging about four hours of playtime per day. If it starts running low on power, a quick 10-minute charge gives you an extra four hours of music, ensuring it will not let you down during late-night parties

Sony SRS-XV800 Wireless Party Speaker: Verdict

The Sony SRS-XV800 Wireless Party Speaker can be a good choice for indoor parties as it offers clear and loud sound, long battery life, and water resistance. Smooth multi-device connectivity on the Sony SRS-XV800 really impressed me. However, keep in mind that it is quite heavy and not easy to carry between different floors by yourself. Overall, it’s a near-perfect choice for indoor parties with great sound and a long-lasting battery.
