Richard Gere’s former New Canaan estate was demolished after its sale last year. The historic 1938 manor was replaced by plans for nine luxury homes. A salvage team rescued architectural elements before the demolition occurred. These salvaged items included libraries, mantels, and doorways for resale. The original house, with its rich history, is now gone forever.
