Regional parties received over Rs 1,051 crore in donations above Rs 20,000 in FY2024-25. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam emerged as the highest recipient with Rs 365.78 crore. Cash donations dramatically increased from Rs 6.54 crore to Rs 301.44 crore. Corporate and business houses remained the primary source of political funding. Electoral bonds were a significant funding source before their discontinuation.
