New iOS 17 update has taken a toll on the battery life
iOS 17 update is available for iPhones models launched after the X and most of these users are facing battery drain issues now.
iOS 17 update has rolled out this week covering all the users in the space of 24 hours, giving them new features and improvements in performance to some extent. However, the new iOS update has also posed issues for old iPhone users who have seen their battery range drop after installing the iOS version.
If you have installed iOS 17 on iPhone models Xr, 11, 12 and even 13, you might face battery drain issues over the next few days. People have shared this concern on X with their posts this week, and this seems to have become the usual trend with new iOS updates in the past few years.
Even Apple’s support page has been crowded with complaints about low battery life with iOS 17 which means that the company should likely roll out a fix for the issue with a new iOS 17.1 version in the coming days.
The data also proved this point, as a GeekBench battery test result clearly shows a noticeable drop in the overall battery life. The most intriguing data from the report was that the iPhone Xr and iPhone 13 models were the worst affected after running the iOS 17 version. Fair to say, that if your iPhone model is still running on the iOS 16.6 version, we suggest you wait it out for the next release of the iOS 17 version before taking the new update.
The iOS 17 version is compatible with all iPhone models launched after the X series. It includes a slew of new features, building on the overhaul that Apple brought with iOS 16. While the UI hasn’t changed much, new features like Standby, better Siri, Contact Posters, and NameDrop promise a better overall experience with a focus on quality-of-life improvements. You also have some underrated features like better dual-SIM support, voice cloning and multi-lingual Siri.
