In a span of nine years, Ethiopia’s drylands have observed significant forest expansion alongside a reduction in soil erosion. The practices of assisted natural regeneration and active tree planting have been pivotal in enhancing forest density. As a result, severe topsoil loss in the mountainous terrain has meaningfully diminished. These outcomes resonate with Ethiopia’s ecological objectives and green economy initiatives, underscoring practical approaches for restoring ravaged communal landscapes.
