iOS 26.1 beta 1 introduces several updates, including AirPods Live Translation for five new languages, expanded Apple Intelligence in eight languages, and a new swipe gesture for Apple Music’s MiniPlayer with Liquid Glass effects and haptic feedback. Beta code of the update reportedly hints at Notification Forwarding, easier third-party accessory pairing, and future MCP support for agentic AI, with some features potentially limited to the EU.

Google’s Search Live in AI Mode is now rolling out to Android and iOS users in the US, giving them free access to the AI feature, the company announced on Wednesday. Integrated within the Google app, it allows users to have conversations with the AI chatbot and ask questions about their surroundings by using their phone’s camera feed. The company recently confirmed that the feature will also come to India. However, the exact release timeline is currently unknown.

YouTube is expanding its AI-powered age estimation tool to identify underage users. First introduced in July, the system analyses user activity to determine if someone is a minor, applying restrictions if necessary. On Wednesday, multiple users reported being reclassified as minors, prompting verification requests through government ID, credit card details, or a selfie.

CMF recently moved its global marketing operations to India. Now, the company will also be headquartered in the country as an independent subsidiary of the Carl Pei-led smartphone maker Nothing. CMF will have its end-to-end mobile operations in the country. It has also announced a new strategic partnership with an electronics manufacturer.
