Atlanta teacher warned students away from locked 26-acre forest; $3 million may open it

For years, Atlanta teacher Renette Scott warned students against entering the locked woods outside Therrell High School, unaware that the 26-acre forest was city-owned. After years of community advocacy, Atlanta secured a $2 million state grant and will add $1 million of its own to help turn Falling Water Park into a public park with trails, a lake boardwalk and wildlife education.
