The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple launched its latest iPhone 15 series smartphones, including the premium iPhone Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, in India and globally on Tuesday. Both devices come with new designs, features, and specifications. From the new action button to the A17 Pro chip, lightweight titanium design, and USB-C port, here’s all you need to know about the latest iPhone 15 Pro models.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be available in black titanium, white titanium, blue titanium, and natural titanium finishes. iPhone 15 Pro starts at Rs 1,34,900 and is available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage capacities. iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,59,900 and is available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage capacities.

Customers in more than 40 countries and regions, including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, the UAE, the U.K., and the U.S., will be able to pre-order iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max beginning at 5 a.m. PDT this Friday, September 15, with availability beginning Friday, September 22.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max sport 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display with Always-On and ProMotion technologies. The devices come with with Apple’s Ceramic Shield material and offer up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness and have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Both iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are powered by Apple’s new 3nm chipset A17 Bionic chipset that offers a 10 percent increase in performance. A17 Pro includes a dedicated AV1 decoder, enabling more efficient, high-quality video experiences for streaming services

Both devices offer smoother graphics, as well as more immersive AR applications and gaming experiences. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max come with an all-new Action button, which replaced the traditional alert slider, used to toggle between ring and silent. The new action button offers additional options so users can choose between quickly accessing the camera or flashlight; activating Voice Memos, Focus modes, Translate, and accessibility features like Magnifier; or using Shortcuts for more options.

“A press-and-hold gesture with fine-tuned haptic feedback and visual cues in the Dynamic Island ensure the new button launches the intended action,” the company said. The devices are made using Grade 5 titanium and aluminium sub-structure for increased durability and lightness.

For optics, both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have a triple rear camera setup. The devices feature a 48MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera.  The iPhone 15 Pro has a 12MP 3x telephoto camera, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max model has a 12MP periscope camera setup, which can offer up to 5x optical zoom performance. For video calls and selfies, the have a 12MP TrueDepth camera on the front.  Also, the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature a USB Type-C port with USB 3.0 speeds.
