A 10.22-kg rock used as a Michigan barn doorstop was identified as a new iron meteorite

In 1939, a meteorite was unearthed on a Michigan farm and innocently pressed into service as a doorstop for many years. It wasn’t until 2018, following the fall of another meteorite, that subsequent owners saw its true value.
