An Indian-origin woman, Aleena Asif, was tragically killed in her Long Island reidence by her estranged husband, Asif Qureshi, who attacked her with a chemical substance after stalking her. Qureshi, who pleaded not guilty, had a history of domestic incidents. The couple shared three children, and Aleena had previously sought law enforcement’s help due to threats.
