Did we get our first look at the upcoming OnePlus Open foldable in the public? It seems the official launch is not far away now.
OnePlus Open foldable phone could be launching soon as the device has been spotted in the public recently. The company is reportedly going to launch the foldable phone on October 19 and going by that timeline, this teaser seems like a nice marketing ploy.
The OnePlus foldable phone has been spotted with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, with the curious eyes spotting the giant camera island at the back of a foldable phone. She has been captured with the rumoured device in a video which suggests the company is close to officially unveiling its first foldable product. The way the device has been moved closer to the camera hints the product reveal was done intentionally.
The OnePlus Open is claimed to be a challenger to Samsung’s foldable lineup but the company seems to be taking a different route when it comes to pricing the product.
OnePlus first announced its foldable ambitions during the launch of the OnePlus 11 series earlier this year in India. The company has also said that the Open foldable will be launched in countries like India, which is one of its important markets.
The company had to delay the launch of its foldable device. It is assumed that the company has made a last-minute decision to change the display vendor from BOE to using panels from Samsung. It is likely that OnePlus felt the performance of the BOE display was not up to the mark for its product, and hence going with Samsung’s panel felt like the obvious decision.
The OnePlus Open leaks have given us a good idea about the focus of the company, now that it is expected to be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
OnePlus could opt for a 2K AMOLED display, courtesy of Samsung, which should offer 120Hz refresh rate. OnePlus is expected to include a triple rear camera system which has been seemingly confirmed by this teaser, and the battery should offer fast charging.
