BIS के नियम IS 302-2-30:2007 के तहत हर ISI सर्टिफाइड हीटर को कई इलेक्ट्रिकल और मैकेनिकल टेस्ट से गुजरना पड़ता है. यह मार्क इस बात की गारंटी देता है कि हीटर घरेलू इस्तेमाल के लिए सुरक्षित है.</p> <h2 style="text-align: justify;">बिजली के झटके और आग से बचाव की जांच</h2> <p style="text-align: justify;">BIS के अनुसार, हीटर में अर्थ कंटिन्यूटी, इलेक्ट्रिक स्ट्रेंथ और लाइव पार्ट्स से सुरक्षा जैसे टेस्ट अनिवार्य होते हैं. इनका मकसद यह सुनिश्चित करना है कि इस्तेमाल के दौरान करंट लगने या अंदरूनी खराबी से हादसा न हो. इसके अलावा ऑटोमैटिक कट-ऑफ फीचर भी बेहद जरूरी है जो हीटर के ज्यादा गर्म होने या गिरने की स्थिति में उसे खुद बंद कर देता है.</p> <h2 style="text-align: justify;">सही वॉटेज का होना भी है अहम</h2> <p style="text-align: justify;">सरकार की गाइडलाइंस में पावर इनपुट और वॉटेज की सटीकता पर भी जोर दिया गया है. रूम हीटर आमतौर पर 1000 वॉट तक और उससे ज्यादा की कैटेगरी में आते हैं. गलत साइज के कमरे के लिए ज्यादा वॉटेज वाला हीटर लेने से ओवरहीटिंग और बिजली की ज्यादा खपत हो सकती है.
