Google Messages Can Now Alert You Before You Open Potentially Explicit Videos

Google Messages is rolling out video detection for nudity and explicit content with the October 2025 Play Services update. The feature scans incoming and outgoing videos locally, powered by SafetyCore, keeping all media private. Explicit videos are automatically blurred, letting users review or delete them before viewing. Sensitive Content Warnings reduce unwanted exposure, especially for younger users. Similar to Apple’s iMessage system, Google’s detection happens on-device, but unlike Apple, it applies to both teens and adults, adjusting settings by age.

WhatsApp’s Message Translation Feature Is Rolling on iOS With Support for 21 Languages

WhatsApp has reportedly started rolling out the recently announced Message Translation feature to iOS devices. During the announcement, the Meta-owned company said that the app will be able to translate messages in 19 languages on iOS. However, it is reportedly allowing iPhone users to translate messages in over 21 languages. It is said to rely on Apple’s translation APIs to translate messages within the app.

Vivo X300 Series to Be 7.95mm Thick, Will Run Android 16-Based OriginOS 6 Out of the Box

Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro, which are scheduled to launch on October 13, will feature a “thin and lightweight” body, the company recently announced via a social media post. Vivo also shared exactly how much the phones in the lineup will measure in thickness. On top of this, the smartphone brand has confirmed that the Vivo X300 series will run OriginOS 6, which is scheduled to be unveiled in China on October 10 and later in India. The new skin is built on top of the Android 16 operating system (OS).
