OnePlus 15’s launch in China is only a week away. The much-anticipated debut of the Chinese tech firm’s next flagship phone is set for October 27. It is confirmed to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the same as the flagship handsets from Xiaomi. Although the key features and pricing of the phone have been leaking online for a while, various technical specifications of the handset remain under wraps. The phone is also confirmed to be unveiled in India soon.

Apple is said to be reducing production of the iPhone Air. The Cupertino-based company is reportedly ramping up production for other iPhone 17 models, as the lineup sees strong demand despite trade tensions and a slow global smartphone market. CERT-In has issued a high-severity alert (CIVN-2025-0274) for a remote code execution vulnerability in Google Chrome for desktop. The flaw, caused by improper implementation in Chrome’s V8 engine, could allow attackers to execute code with user privileges, leading to system takeover, data theft, or service disruption. It affects Chrome versions prior to 141.0.7390.122/.123 on Windows and macOS, and 141.0.7390.122 on Linux. Google has released a fix in the latest Stable Channel Update, and users are advised to update immediately to stay protected.

Tether, the world’s largest stablecoin issuer now has over 500 million users, marking a major milestone in global crypto adoption. Its USDT supply has reached nearly $182 billion (roughly Rs. 15,10,000 crore), far outpacing rival Circle’s USDC. CEO Paolo Ardoino called the achievement a “financial inclusion milestone,” noting USDT’s role in helping unbanked populations worldwide. Tether also plans to launch a new US-regulated stablecoin called USAT later this year.

A new study by Brave claims that Perplexity’s Comet browser and similar AI-powered browsers could be vulnerable to prompt injections. Researchers demonstrated how malicious instructions hidden in a webpage or image can trick the AI assistant into performing harmful actions, such as accessing emails or social media accounts. The findings highlight significant security risks in AI browsers with autonomous browsing features.
