OpenAI Plans to Launch Automated ‘AI Researcher’ For Autonomous Scientific Discoveries by 2028

OpenAI, as part of its plans to achieve artificial general intelligence (AGI) capabilities, will launch an Automated AI Research tool by March 2028. This will be capable of making autonomous scientific discoveries. The company also plans to reduce the time an AI agent takes to generate answers to queries, dubbed test time compute. By September 2026, the AI firm will launch its first Automated AI Research Intern, which is claimed to make the research process faster. On top of this, RazorPay has announced that it is adopting OpenAI's new Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) to allow users to make card payments while buying products on ChatGPT.

YouTube will introduce stricter content rules from November 17 to limit video game footage featuring “graphic violence.” The updated policy, part of efforts to protect younger viewers, expands existing Community Guidelines to cover more forms of violent depictions. It will target scenes showing realistic human characters being tortured or large-scale violence against unarmed civilians. Such videos will be age-restricted, allowing access only to users above 18, as YouTube aims to tighten enforcement around violent gaming content.
