Lithuania ready to cover cost if US establishes military base

Since 2019, Lithuania has been hosting a rotating US battalion and is eager for a long-term military presence. Concurrently, the Lithuanian parliament is considering lifting constitutional prohibitions on nuclear weapons, a move that has drawn sharp criticism from Russia, citing heightened regional tensions.
