Madagascar president fires government after Gen Z protests

Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina dissolved his government on Monday. This action followed days of deadly unrest. The United Nations reported at least 22 people died. Protesters demanded Rajoelina’s resignation. They cited chronic power and water cuts. Widespread poverty also fueled the unrest. The president acknowledged public anger. He promised a new government within three days.
